Founder & Executive Director

Brief info

Sam first visited Manchester in 2000 on behalf of his university in Ghana to attend a conference and took the chance to visit the University of Manchester’s Engineering Department. Following discussions, Sam was invited to apply for their MSc course in Corrosion Control Engineering and was accepted to start the following September. After completing his course, Sam took up a safety engineering role with Transport for London before returning to the North West for a project management role with Transport for Greater Manchester in late 2008. He then moved to Manchester Airport in 2013, as a Project Manager. He currently works at SEED Architects.

Sam has taken it upon himself to help those from a similar background follow his path up the career ladder in more recent years.
Besides delivering projects, Sam is a passionate trainer, mentor, and coach. He has mentored many young people and served as a career mentor for The University of Manchester. Sam has also been a school Governor for the last nine years.

My Aspiration
From my humble beginning growing up in Ghana, West Africa, I never imagined that I could go this far, let alone write and publish a book.
As a novice right out of graduate school, I am grateful to individuals who believed in me and gave me opportunities even when I had nothing to show yet. I continued to evolve and enjoyed meeting some remarkable personalities and great minds along the way to a successful career.
My book's publication on project management is an excellent testament to me that each person can do well if presented with the right opportunities in life.

Sam Buah Foundation
Among the black minorities, I count myself one of the lucky few who have had access to life-changing opportunities that paved my way. Therefore, my ambition is to give other young children access to opportunities that, like mine, will change their lives.
It has been a life-long dream to start this foundation. I could not think of a better way to start than using the proceeds from my book launch and a portion of the ongoing book sale to support this cause.
As a Foundation, we will be providing mentoring, coaching, training, work placement, and several others to young black minorities.
