Brief info

Sam first visited Manchester in 2000 on behalf of his university in Ghana to attend a conference and used the opportunity to visit the University of Manchester’s Engineering Department. Following discussions, Sam applied for his MSc course in Corrosion Control Engineering and was accepted to start the following September. After completing the course, and following up with a further course at Lancaster University, Sam took up a safety engineering role with Transport for London before returning to the Northwest for a project management role with Transport for Greater Manchester in late 2008. He then moved to Manchester Airport in 2013, as a Project Manager where he worked for several years before dedicating his full time to manage JOJE Project Training & Consulting as a Freelance Project Manager as well as managing the Sam Buah Foundation.

In recent years, Sam has dedicated himself to helping others from similar backgrounds to advance in their careers. Besides delivering projects, Sam works as a trainer, mentor, and coach. He has mentored many individuals and served as a career mentor for The University of Manchester. Sam also served as a school Governor for more than 10 years.

My Aspiration
Starting from humble beginnings in Ghana, West Africa, Sam pursued higher education and professional opportunities, resulting in a successful career. His book on project management demonstrates that individuals can achieve success when given the right opportunities.

Sam Buah Foundation
Among black minorities, Sam considers himself fortunate to have accessed life-changing opportunities. His goal is to provide similar opportunities to other young people. Proceeds from his book launch and sales support this initiative, which offers mentoring, coaching, training, work placements, and more to young black minorities.
