Career Mentoring

Career mentorship is one of the flagship programmes offered by the Sam Buah Foundation. As Sam was a beneficiary of good mentoring and great counsel, he places great emphasis on the mentorship programme and had this to say, “My life today is as a result of having great mentors around me”. The Foundation aims to give our mentees the best possible opportunity to learn and acquire knowledge and be guided by experienced professionals. Our mentors serve as role models and an excellent point of contact to help connect mentees to potential opportunities. Mentors also use their network to give mentees access to other people who may be able to help. There are many good reasons why you would like to join our mentorship programme.

Objective:

To enhance the appeal of the Project Management profession to younger individuals and promote diversity within the profession, particularly by encouraging representation among ethnic minority groups.

What’s included:

• One year of project management mentoring and coaching
• APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ)
• Participation in project delivery workshops
• Work shadowing opportunities with seasoned Project Managers
• Industry work experience with our partner organisations
• Individual coaching sessions with experienced Coaches
• At least six months of mentoring from a seasoned Project Manager
• Supervised Project Work for hands-on practice and experience

Eligibility:

• Age within the range of 20 to 30 years old
• Belonging to an ethnic minority group and residing in the United Kingdom
• A final year undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate student
• Demonstrating a strong passion for Project Management
