Our Programs

The Gifted Child Programme

What is the Gifted Child Programme – Each year, the Sam Buah Foundation identifies, nurtures, and supports young children and youths from less privileged backgrounds with high academic abilities to help them maximise their potential.

How the programme works – The Gifted Child Programme organises programmes, events, and activities aimed at identifying highly able children and youths in the community. The programme provides extra educational support, equipment, and occasionally financial support to gifted children and youths from less privileged backgrounds.

How we identify the Gifted Child – We organise a series of activities and workshops designed to identify and select gifted children. Participants engage in activities, competitions, and workshops that aim to identify highly able children.

Who is a Gifted Child? Gifted children can demonstrate their abilities in multiple ways, such as:

  • Exceptional reading ability
  • Exceptional intellectual ability
  • Social awareness
  • Awareness of global events
  • Questioning ability
  • Curiosity mindset
  • Quick learning of new concepts
  • Musical ability
  • Leadership skills

What happens after selecting the Gifted Child – The Foundation aims to support Gifted Children in various ways to help them achieve their best. We collaborate with organisations, donors, and other entities to source and provide educational materials and equipment to support and nurture our Gifted Children, aiming to create a positive impact in the community.
